Ask ABC: I have had several changes to my staff recently. How do I make sure my staff continues to receive important ABC information?

A: ABC’s Service Department helps members with report ordering and it also updates ABC’s contact database. Everything from voting proxies to e-mails on board action summaries to invoices depends on the accuracy of this information. If a member experiences any change in staffing and believes that they may not be receiving important communications from ABC, it is necessary that the member contacts ABC’s service department immediately to ensure that nothing is missed.

ABC’s helpful can be reached at (847) 879-8266.

Related reasons to contact ABC’s Service Department when your staff changes:

  • It’s recommended that members call ABC to change passwords when an employee leaves your company. The security of your account with ABC is at risk because your account may be open to use by other organizations unless the password is changed.
  • ABC issues voting proxies to your designated member representative. It is important that, prior to the Annual Conference and Meeting, held in November, that everyone who is eligible is able to vote.
  • Member service reports are sent out annually. It is important that this information reaches your designated member representative. This report tells you exactly which ABC products, subscriptions and services you currently use and allows you to review your usage.
  • If you experience a change in publishing companies or publisher, make sure to contact ABC with updated information. Although some information may be in the news media, members are encouraged to verify that their information is current and correct.
