ABC Updates Audience-FAX Resources in Preparation for Nov. 5 Release
To ensure that all members are prepared for the Nov. 5 release of Audience-FAX, ABC has added a new Audience-FAX on-demand tutorial and updated the Audience-FAX FAQs.
The Audience-FAX on-demand tutorial is 13 minutes long and provides an overview of the program, reviews report formats and explains reporting requirements for both tier one and tier two newspapers. This interactive tutorial is helpful for both media buyers and publishers that need a brief explanation or review of the Audience-FAX program.
ABC also updated the Audience-FAX FAQs; below are samples of some of the new questions:
- What’s the difference between tier one and tier two newspapers?
Audience-FAX reports in two tiers or groups: tier one covers newspapers in a syndicated Scarborough-measured market that meet Reader Profile standards. All other newspapers with readership studies that meet Reader Profile standards or have audited Web sites report as part of the tier two category.
A complete list of tier one newspapers for the September 2007 reporting period is available on ABC’s Web site.
- What’s the difference between the DMA and NDM* data?
The DMA (Designated Market Area) is a standardized television viewing area defined by Nielsen.
The NDM* (Newspaper Designated Market for readership) is a geographic area selected by the newspaper. It must encompass at least 75 percent of the newspaper’s total paid circulation.
- What’s the difference between online readership and total Web site usage?
The online readership number reflects the total number of readers the Web site attracts within a defined market area (either DMA or NDM*). The Web site usage data indicates the total number of visitors to a site, regardless of the origination.
Other Audience-FAX resources include a free recording of our Aug. 22 webinar, prototypes of both the Publisher’s Statements and FAS-FAX reports, a program description and details about reporting options.
Audience-FAX Online Database
On Nov. 5, Scarborough Research will publish the Audience-FAX online database at www.audiencefax.com. This database is available for free to all users and features data analysis tools that enable users to rank data in various ways, including creating reports that compare and contrast circulation audience data among markets and newspapers. The Audience-FAX database also includes detailed print demographic information including age, gender, household income and education. Before accessing the database, users will need to complete a brief registration form.
About Audience-FAX
