ABC Board Approves Final Format of IVS Audit Report
The ABC board voted to approve the final format of the Insert Verification Service (IVS) audit report at its March 2006 meeting. The audit report will feature net and gross error rates on the front page and show average paid circulation from the most recent Audit Report or the most recent two Publisher’s Statements. The board also agreed that the report would have a two-year shelf life. View a prototype of the IVS audit report. The board also directed staff to explore the development of a cumulative database that would allow advertiser members to analyze their preprint advertising investments across all participating newspapers. With the addition this month of the Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, N.Y.), Tampa Tribune (Fla.), Richmond Times Dispatch (Richmond, Va.) and Post and Courier (Charleston, S.C.), 27 newspapers have now enrolled in ABC’s Insert Verification Service. Launched in January 2006, the creation of IVS was a joint venture between ABC-member newspaper publishers and advertisers. The voluntary program provides independent third-party verification and accountability for the preprint advertising industry. Publishers participating in the program undergo a quantitative review and audit of their advertising-insert distribution process. All audit results are published in ABC’s electronic database, which is available to ABC members. Members interested in enrollment information should contact at (847) 879-8412 or download an enrollment form. Related Links: |
