Hachette Filipacchi Expands ABC Rapid Report Participation
Hachette Filipacchi Media recently announced that it plans to expand its participation in ABC Rapid Report. Beginning with January 2008 issues, all Hachette titles will report their top-line circulation data in the online tool. Hachette’s Car and Driver, Road and Track and Woman’s Day currently participate in Rapid Report. In a statement, Hachette President and CEO Jack Kliger said, “We believe that greater transparency and accountability are in the best interests of Hachette and the industry. Advertisers deserve timely assurance that the circulation delivered by the titles in which they advertise is in keeping with their expectations.” At its July meeting, the ABC board agreed to establish a task force to review ways to increase industry participation in Rapid Report and to discuss future enhancements for the tool. Launched in 2006, ABC Rapid Report allows consumer magazine publishers to voluntarily report their top-line circulation data on an issue-by-issue basis within weeks of the on-sale date. Publishers participating in the service report circulation data including paid and verified subscriptions, single-copy sales, analyzed non-paid circulation and rate base. The program calculates category totals and the amount above or below rate base. More than 70 consumer magazines are now participating in Rapid Report. Related Links: |
