Discussions to Center Around “Content @ The Root of All Media” on Oct. 29 – 30

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., (October 8, 2008)—The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) will hold its 94th Conference and Annual Meeting on Oct. 29 – 30 at The Waldorf=Astoria in New York City. This year’s conference theme, “Content @ The Root of All Media,” focuses on the strategic ways publishing and advertising leaders are capitalizing on their multimedia brands, enlarging their audiences, forging innovative partnerships and building a strong foundation for buyer/seller communication.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will welcome guests to the city for the conference, which features a diverse lineup of speakers with expertise on building multimedia brands and delivering effective client messages across multiple platforms, including Ann Moore, chairman and CEO of Time Inc. and Gail Collins, columnist for The New York Times.

Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to focus on media-specific topics in two concurrent divisional meetings. Periodicals will learn more about engaging consumers across multiple platforms at a panel moderated by Lorelei Calvert, senior vice president and general manager of Texas Monthly and vice president, circulation, Emmis Publishing, L.P. Calvert’s panel includes: Dave Zinczenko, editor-in-chief, Men’s Health, editorial director, Women’s Health and Best Life; Chuck Cordray, vice president and general manager, Hearst Magazines Digital Media; Nadine McHugh, managing partner, director, team Unilever US, MindShare and Jacki Kelley, executive vice president, media sales, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

At the newspaper divisional meeting, attendees will receive updates on Audience-FAX, as well as the qualification and reporting initiatives.

Due to popular demand, the informative and educational Nuts & Bolts sessions will also return. Led by ABC’s Publisher Relations department, these sessions will again focus on media-division specific topics. Newspapers will discuss the upcoming rules changes and learn how to save money on their audits, while magazines will review trends in verified circulation, guidelines for sponsored sales and partnership programs, and new periodical analysis tools.

Complete program details, including registration forms, are available on ABC’s website.
