Analysis By Price Category Report
ABC’s analysis by price category provides a detailed summary of newspapers’ circulation based on the price at which the copies were sold. Only newspapers that generate more than five percent of their subscription circulation from copies sold at less than 25 percent of their published basic price are included in the report. If a newspaper reaches the five percent threshold, the report will include circulation data for all copies sold at above and below 25 percent of basic price.
The report is updated every six months following the release of newspapers’ March and September Publisher’s Statements.
Media Buyer Access
The newspaper analysis by price category report is available to all ABC advertiser and advertising agency members with an e-Data user name and password. These members can access the report by logging into the e-Data center, selecting the red Newspaper Reference Reports heading on the left-hand navigation bar, and then choosing Analysis by Price Category – Para. 5 from the list of options.
For assistance navigating the report, media buyers are encouraged to contact their marketing manager.
Newspaper Publisher Access
The newspaper analysis by price category report is only available to ABC advertiser and advertising agency members. ABC newspaper publishers are not granted access to the report. If requested, competing newspapers may receive the information for the other newspapers in their market.
To make a request, newspapers should submit an online form with all fields completed. As noted, the analysis by price category report is only populated upon release of a newspaper’s Publisher’s Statement. If a newspaper’s Publisher’s Statement has not yet been released, ABC cannot provide the data or confirmation that the newspaper reached the five percent threshold.
