Guide for Initial Audits

Publicizing Your ABC Status

Once ABC has acknowledged receipt of both your application and initial deposit, you may begin to publicize that you are an applicant for ABC membership. This means you may state in the masthead of your publication, as well as promotional and media kit materials, one of the following phrases:

  • ‘ABC membership applied for’
  • ‘ABC membership applicant’
  • ‘Applicant for ABC membership’

Whenever internal circulation numbers are promoted, any reference to ABC should be excluded.

You may publicize your ABC applicant status for up to one year from the date your application was received by ABC. If you have not yet begun publishing your magazine, you may publicize your ABC applicant status for up to one year from the date you begin publishing.

The use of the ABC logo and claim of ‘ABC member’ is not permitted in any promotional or media kit materials or masthead of any publication until your Initial Audit is completed and officially released by ABC.

Once ABC releases your initial audit, you are then permitted to download and use the ABC logo and the phrase ‘ABC member.’
