Verified-Optional Reporting of Payment for Public Place Programs
Effective for June 2008 Statements
At the March 2008 board meeting an optional reporting disclosure was endorsed for those public place verified programs where payment was collected for the subscriptions.
Some publishers may want to disclose the payment that was collected from a sponsor of these public place copies, but the disclosure is completely optional.
If you choose to disclose the payment it will be reported net of all considerations and the details will appear in the explanatory paragraph of the Publisher's Statement. A prominent "#" sign will be shown in Paragraph 1 next to the verified category, as well as a notation in Paragraph 6 and 6a that states that the public place verified copies were paid for.
A prototype of the new disclosure is available online.
This optional disclosure can be reported starting with June 2008 statements and forward.
