Premium Exclusion: Free or Discounted Access to Online Content—Final Passage July 2007

At the March 2007 meeting, the board of directors granted first passage to modify Rule C 5.1 Premium Defined as it relates to the exclusion of free or discounted access to online content.

Since 1996, the board has adopted and continually renewed (every two years) a policy stipulating that the premium rules should not apply to the following situation:

• To subscribers, free or discounted online access to expanded content from the publication, provided the online access is from the same editorial home as the publication.

The March 2007 action was to formalize this policy by granting first passage to adopt permanent rule language.

Final passage was granted at the July 2007 board meeting, and this rule is effective July 16, 2007. As soon as it is available, updated rule language will be posted at www.accessabc.com
