Network Statements for Business Publications

If you have multiple titles for the same market, chances are you sell advertising as a unit. By doing so, you are showing advertisers that you reach each and every aspect of the market. But with multiple Publisher’s Statements, proving that your circulation figures back up your group rates is a confusing task, both for your ad sales staff and the media buyers to whom you sell. ABC Network Statements are an easy solution to this problem.

Network Statements show combined circulation averages for all titles in a group, along with issue-by-issue breakdowns for each publication. Since your group advertising rates are based on a circulation figure significantly higher than that of any individual title in the group, ABC’s stamp of approval is even more important in lending credibility to your data.

ABC has only four requirements for filing a Network Statement:

1) Advertising must be sold as a unit.

2) All publications in the group must carry individual membership with ABC.

3) The publications must have one issue (the Analyzed Issue) in common and follow the same audit cycle.

4) The Network Statement must carry a different title than any publication comprising the group.

When you use a Network Statement from ABC, the impact is unmatched. Media buyers can use only one report to review circulation for all your titles, rather than having to sort through three, five, ten or more Publisher’s Statements. The impression you can leave with an advertiser by showing a higher average circulation figure can also have immediate effect, especially in competitive situations.

Just like a Publisher’s Statement, the Network Statement is very affordable. There’s no additional audit needed, only a few hours of review and processing time, plus printing costs.
