Audience-FAX/Reader Profile
Annually, American publishers spend tens-of-millions of dollars on proprietary and syndicated readership studies. ABC’s research verification service for newspapers is designed to maximize your research investment by instilling confidence in your readership data through third-party verification. ABC does not conduct the research; instead ABC maintains its third-party neutrality by verifying the studies before, during and after fieldwork to ensure compliance with industry-developed standards.
Newspapers may report the results of their verified readership study in Audience-FAX, Reader Profile reports or both.
Audience-FAX
Audience-FAX is an audience reporting initiative that allows U.S. daily newspapers to incorporate top-line print readership, online readership, net combined audience and total Web site usage on ABC media reports. ABC independently verifies all data report in Audience-FAX.
Reader Profile Reports
Reader Profile reports provide detailed print readership data information, including readers, reach, readers per copy, source of copy and demographics. Reader Profile reports can be issued as stand-alone documents or as a complement to the top-line readership data published in Audience-FAX.

Subscriber Profile

- ABC validates the publication’s subscriber file and pulls the sample
- ABC verifies that the correct questionnaire and cover letter are mailed to the selected list
- ABC confirms the accuracy of the data from the time the questionnaire is received by the supplier until the report is issued
- ABC authenticates that the data cleaning/weighting and tabulation processes have been properly executed
